About us

The »Graduate Research Training Program PharMetrX: Pharmacometrics & Computational Disease Modelling« is a joint initiative in Germany between Freie Universität Berlin and the Universität Potsdam, bridging Pharmacy and Mathematics, and supported by a consortium of the research-driven pharmaceutical companies. PharMetrX is chaired by Charlotte Kloft, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Biochemistry, and Wilhelm Huisinga, Professor of Mathematical modelling and Systems biology.

Aims of the Program

PharMetrX aims: to comprehensively train junior scientists in pharmacometrics & computational disease modelling; to convey knowledge, method and software expertise, and decision-making competence in both fields; to formally implement pharmacometrics in the academic environment; and to promote pharmacometrics & computational disease modelling, and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

What is pharmacometrics?

How to find on the right drug and the right dosing regimen for a patient? How to make use of the wealth of information available? About the drug, the patho-/physiology, in vitro, nonclinical and clinical data? Pharmacometrics is the intergrative science using in silico models to understand the drug-patient-disease relationships and to optimise drug therapy.
