PharMetrX has much to offer for both, students who are looking for a PhD opportunity bridging pharmacy & mathematics (PharMetrX Research+ Program) as well as for PhD students who are looking for a structured training curriculum in pharmacometrics & computational disease modelling and a network of peers for exchange (PharMetrX Training+ Program). Our Offer
PharMetrX offers two different opportunities for prospective PhD students:
- As a student of the PharMetrX Research+ Program, you will perform your PhD studies in the fields of pharmacometrics & computational disease modelling with Prof. Dr. Charlotte Kloft (Clinical Pharmacy & Biochemistry, Freie Universität Berlin), and with Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Huisinga (Mathematical Modelling & Systems Biology, Universität Potsdam), be assigned a mentor from one of our Industry Partners and part of the PharMetrX Network of PhD Students, participate in the module curriculum, and be financially supported by an attractive research fellowship.
- As a student of the PharMetrX Training+ Program, you will participate in the module curriculum and be part of the PharMetrX Network of PhD Students, while you already have a supervisor & funding and not yet completed the first year of your PhD studies when entering the PharMetrX program.
Deadlines
The call for applications is closed. For your information, please find below a detailed list of important dates of the application process. The call for application will be 1 July to 6 September 2024.
- Start of application period: July 1st, 2024
- Deadline for applicants to upload their information/documents: Sept 6th, 2024
- Deadline for the two researchers to upload their letters of recommendation: Sept 6th, 2024
- Email notification to shortlisted and waiting list candidates: End Oct/beginning Nov 2024
Note: We will not notify applicants that are not shortlisted or not on the waiting list. If you do not hear back from us until End October/beginning November than your name is on neither of the two lists. - Pre-selection interviews with candidates (online): 25 Oct to 1 Nov 2024 (via Skype, WebEx or Zoom).
They are intended to clarify some questions that came up during the review of your application by the Admission Board on your background, motivation etc; time frame ca 15-30 min. After all pre-selection interviews, the Admission Board will make its final decision about invitations to the personal interviews - Personal interviews will be online: 25 and 26 Nov 2024
- Email offers to selected candidates: within one week after the interviews
- Start of your PhD research project: oftentimes Mar 2025, but can be determined individually
- Start of application period: July 1st, 2024
- Deadline for applicants to upload their information/documents: Sept 6th, 2024
- Deadline for the two researchers to upload their letters of recommendation: Sept 6th, 2024
- Email offers to selected candidates: End of 2024
- Depending on vacancies, later applications may be accepted.
The joint module curriculum of the PharMetrX Research+ Program and the PharMetrX Training+ Program will start Mar 2025.
The modules will take place on site unless there is an unforeseen worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic.
